New Deal Washington, D.C. – Map and Guide
The Living New Deal has just published a map and guide to the work of the New Deal in Washington, D.C. The map includes 500 New Deal sites in the District alone, highlighting 34 notable sites. There is an inset map of the area around the National Mall which can be used for self-guided walking tours.
The extensive text on the back of the map offers insights into the specifics of the top sites, as well as introductions to the New Deal and the Living New Deal.
The map is 18″ x 24″ and color printed on high quality paper. It folds neatly to pocket size for use by visitors, tour guides, preservationists, historians, public officials, teachers, students and anyone else with an interest in Washington DC or the New Deal.
Over the course of 2021, the Living New Deal and allied local organizations will be presenting lectures, panels, and exhibits on the map and the transformation of Washington, D.C. by the New Deal. Please check our Events Page for details.
